1948 case – In Need of a Lawyer?
Under the Italian Law Italian-born women, and women of Italian descent, could only transmit Italian citizenship to their sons and daughters born after 1948 (year of the Italian constitution, which established that women and men have equal rights). Your request for citizenship can only be be successful through a judicial proceeding (your presence in Italy won’t be required).
- How long does it take? The timeline from the beginning of the legal proceeding in Italy is normally 2.5/3 years. Your presence in Italy is not required at any time.
- How much does it cost? The fee for the lawyer alone is 4999€ (not US dollars) for an applicant.
- Can my family members join the trial? Yes, additional family members can join the trial at the same time. Additional 375€ for each additional immediate family member (siblings, parents, or adult children), and €475 for each additional non-immediate family member (aunts, uncles, cousins). Out-of-pocket expenses:- €286 for filing (regardless of the number of petitioners) – up to €500 for travel costs
- What is the probability to win? The probability to attain citizenship via the courts in Italy is extremely high for the following reasons. Courts almost always granted Italian citizenship in all the lawsuits that started this and last year and the Italian government is not representing itself in court anymore (no counterclaims, no legal representation)
–in nearly all the new trials started this and last year, judges assigned to the cases were the same that granted the citizenship in the previous cases won by our firm.
Please note that despite a high number of cases falling in the same category where won, there is no guarantee to win the lawsuit as the Italian legal system allows Courts to decide differently from the jurisprudence set in a certain time (though this scenario is extremely unlikely as Courts tend to adhere to consolidated previous jurisprudence).

You collect pretty much all the documents and we only take care of prepping them (including translations into Italian and costs of certification of translations. EXCLUDED: court fees) and get a lawyer to represent you in Italy. The documents you have no discrepancies in dates and/or names otherwise there will be extra out-of-pocket expenses.
The above fees would include the primary petitioner (in this case it would be you) + 2 immediate family members (siblings, parents, or adult children).
Minor children under 16 years old are automatically included in the total fee.
We would charge an additional €350 for each additional immediate family member (siblings, parents, or adult children), and €450 for each additional non-immediate family member ( only first-degree aunts, uncles, cousins).
Please note you will have to add as well:
- €286 for filing (regardless of the number of petitioners)
- €200-400 for travel costs (regardless of the number of petitioners) deleting on where the comune you are applying is located

Our service fee is payable in 3 installments, including representation in court, procurement of all the necessary vital records, and the other supporting documents, and registration of final judgment.
Our service fee includes assistance from start to finish, throughout the whole process, except only for any out-of-pocket expenses.
The additional charges will consist of any and all out-of-pocket expenses that are related to the completion of your “Citizenship Portfolio” and in the process of preparing your application for Italian Citizenship. These generally include certification and authorization costs, notary fees, agency fees (such as VitalChek), postage & shipping as well as filing fees and any costs related to the court proceeding.
For maximum transparency, expense invoices will include itemized descriptions and scans of all available receipts.
In conclusion, with our full package, you will enjoy a turnkey service in which we handle all of the required steps in acquiring the necessary documentation – with the deliverable literally being the Citizenship Portfolio as it needs to be presented to the court.

- €286 for filing (regardless of the number of petitioners)
- €200-400 for travel costs (regardless of the number of petitioners)
- €300-500 for certification of translations —> Since these extra costs can hardly be predetermined, we separate them from our service fee. For one applicant, these expenses are generally €300-500, however, if the number of applicants increases, such costs could increase as well. That being said, it should not be multiplied by person, since some documents will be in common and sharable.
